Peer Support Specialist

What You'll Do

• Help clients move toward healthier mental and physical well-being through recovery-oriented, person- and family-centered support.
• Strengthen engagement in behavioral health services and connect individuals to coordinated care.
• Individualized health coaching;
• Co-facilitating groups/classes;
• Supporting informed, healthy decision-making;
• Collaborating with behavioral health professionals and Case Managers;
• Participating in treatment planning and team meetings;
• Maintaining timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record.

Required Qualifications/skills

• Peer Support certification at time of employment
• High school diploma/GED; personal history as a consumer of mental health and/or substance use disorder
• Valid Nevada driver's license, proof of insurance, clean driving record/DMV report
• Ability to respond to varied client needs; physical stamina for bending, lifting, and prolonged standing
• Obtain First Aid and infant/adult CPR within 3 months and maintain
