About the role

Peer Support Specialists are people in a peer-designated role providing direct services with a personal experience of recovery from mental health, substance use, or trauma conditions. They receive specialized training and supervision to guide and support others experiencing similar mental health, substance use, or trauma issues toward increased wellness. A Peer Support Specialist is an individual who has made a personal commitment to their own recovery, has maintained that recovery over a period of time, has taken the 80-hour Peer Support Learning training (or equivalent) to work in mutuality with others, and is willing to share what they have learned about recovery in an inspirational way.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct peer support services to individuals with lived experience of mental health, substance use, or trauma conditions.
  • Guide and support others in their recovery journey using personal recovery experience and specialized training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Personal lived experience with mental health, substance use disorder (SUD), or trauma recovery.
  • Completion of 80-hour Peer Support Learning training (or equivalent) within 90 days of hire, or have taken the training within 2 years of hire.
  • Current techniques of behavioral intervention training within six (6) months of hire.

Pay

Pay Range: $26 - $26 USD per hour.

Schedule

Full-Time: PM shift.
