Peer Support Specialist

About the Role

The Peer Support Specialist (PSS) assigned to PCMH/OTP Community-Based Services provides one-on-one support and assists with day-to-day problem-solving related to normalization and reintegration into the community. The role utilizes best practices of assertive engagement, harm reduction, and peer support to engage with members in both community and facility settings. The Peer Support Specialist embraces the recovery philosophy and promotes a safe and inclusive recovery environment for clients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders required.
• Minimum of six months of experience in the Behavioral Health and/or Substance Abuse field required.
• Current AZ Driver’s License (valid and in good standing).
• Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record.
• Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) or ability to obtain CPSS certification within 90 days (3 months) of hire.
• Addiction and Substance Use Disorders certification preferred.
