The Role
- Provide one-on-one coaching to support members' personal goals, inspire self-discovery, and strengthen skills for care
- Plan and lead group activities that encourage participation, build community, and celebrate progress
- Help members access and navigate community resources and support services
- Conduct field work in the community, including home check-ins and attending events with members as a supportive peer
- Collaborate with teammates and clinical staff to ensure every member receives compassionate, coordinated support
What You'll Have
- NYS Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of stable, personal recovery
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 2 years of experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges
- Strong coaching and motivational skills, with ability to support individuals through challenges and model effective coping strategies
- Ability to engage effectively one-on-one and in groups; group facilitation experience preferred
- Knowledge of the New York City area mental health and social service systems
- Understanding of member rights, confidentiality, and trauma-informed care
- Holistic approach to health and wellness
- Basic computer proficiency (Google Suite, EHR documentation)
