Peer Support Specialist - Arkansas

About the role

The Peer Support Specialist (PSS) at Lucet provides peer support services to individuals with serious mental illnesses or substance use disorders within the assigned region. The role involves supporting members in outpatient and inpatient settings, helping them regain independence, and connecting them with community resources.

Responsibilities

• Support members in engaging in services and achieving recovery goals.
• Develop individualized recovery and wellness plans based on members' strengths and resources.
• Coordinate care and connect members with community resources, peer supports, and natural support networks.
• Foster recovery-focused relationships through peer support, self-advocacy, and resilience-building.
• Educate members and providers on benefits, services, and resources.
• Make informed aftercare appointments for members being discharged from higher levels of treatment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Self-identify as having personal life experience with recovery from a mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
• Completed local state Peer Specialist Certificate Program.
• 2-3+ years of experience in mental health and substance use recovery advocacy or related field.
• Strong computer and keyboarding skills (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver license and proof of insurance.
• Pass background check upon hire and throughout employment.

Pay

Hourly compensation between $19.75 - $21 PLUS an annual performance-based, discretionary incentive.
