Peer Support Specialist - 16xBurn

About the role

The Peer Support Specialist works with the treatment team to assist patients in meeting their goals, both during treatment and after transitioning to the next level of care. They collaborate with outside agencies and providers to facilitate care and recovery services. This role has access to mental health billing and service records.

Program

16XBurnside Recovery Center is a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet a critical need in the community: providing extended residential treatment for individuals transitioning out of Hooper Detoxification and Stabilization Center. This center focuses on hope and healing, and is seeking passionate professionals to join its life-changing mission.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm. Saturday and Sunday off.

Pay

$25.05 - $33.24 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education, credentials/licensure, and internal equity. External candidates: Offer max is $29.07/hr per our Union contract.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to read and write at a sufficient level.
• Must be registered with MHACBO as a Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) OR must be a certified Peer Support Specialist (or Peer Wellness Specialist) AND be registered as a Traditional Health Worker on the THW registry.
• Current driver's license, passed a DMV background check, and designated as an "acceptable" driver as outlined in Central City Concern’s Fleet Safety Policy.
• Current Adult CPR and Adult First Aid Certification.
• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders preferred.
• Meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
• Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug-free workplace policies.
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull, lift heavy objects, and climb stairs with reasonable or no accommodation.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

• Work courteously and communicate effectively with the public, clients, medical personnel, corrections personnel, and co-workers.
• Learn and apply training instruction.
• Knowledge of de-escalation methods or ability to be trained in de-escalation methods.
• Knowledge and skills in chemical dependency and crisis intervention.
• Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
