Peer Specialist - Respite

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers with being able to identify personal methods of recovery from mental illness and to develop self management plans to address their experiences.
• Participate in the development of Individualized Action Plans (IAPs) and assist consumers with developing a self-management plan.
• Assist consumers in being fully integrated in their communities by supporting them in the use of community resources, encouraging them in establishing memberships within their communities, and reducing stigma within the community through education.
• Provide side by side interventions to consumers that focus on problem solving, skills training, modeling behavior, optimism and encouragement.
• Aid consumers in working towards achieving goals and developing skills to help consumers be able to move into a more independent setting.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma/GED equivalent
• A valid Driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
• Must be receiving mental health services or have received services in the past and have self-knowledge to manage their mental illness with an established recovery process

Schedule

Monday-Friday 11am-4pm, flexible

Pay

$20 - $20 USD
