About ACT/ACT TAY/STEPS

ACT (Assertive Community Treatment)/ACT TAY (Assertive Community Treatment for Transitional-Aged Youth)/STEPS (Shape, Teach, Evolve, Prepare, Support) programs provide a range of services to people with chronic mental health disorders. ACT/STEPS teams deliver services directly to individuals in their community, offering wrap-around psychiatric services within the comfort of their own home and community. The team includes professionals in psychiatry, social work, nursing, substance use disorders, supported employment, and peer support, ensuring comprehensive care. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year.

Responsibilities

• Share personal recovery experiences and model healthy coping strategies
• Support individuals in building confidence, resilience, and community connections
• Assist with goal-setting and navigating treatment and support systems
• Help individuals recognize and build on their own strengths
• Participate as a valued member of the treatment team
• Provide transportation support when clinically indicated; driving is an essential function of this position
• Provide on-call crisis intervention covering nighttime, evening, and weekend hours
• Complete required state training, supervision, and certification processes (if not already certified)

Requirements

• High School/GED required
• Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services
• Must complete a state-approved training program, pass a standardized examination, complete certification process within 60 days of hire date, and maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist through the MCB (MO)
• Valid driver’s license and agency-established minimum automobile coverage required

Pay

$20.70 / hour
