Responsibilities
- Adhere to all Palmer goals, strategies, and values.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Palmer Polices and state and federal laws.
- Role model appropriate behavior, professional boundaries, respectful communication, and personal appearance in accordance with Employee Dress Code.
- Provide peer recovery support to consumers in residential facility.
- Facilitate, assist or attend groups as assigned.
- Work in collaboration with clients and clinical staff in the best interest of the individual’s recovery process.
- Keep record of client pathway movement.
- Produce accurate rooms list each week or when census changes.
- Inform departments of intake schedule in a timely manner.
- Aid in Outcomes by making follow-up phone calls to former clients, facilitating and administering PAI with clients, tracking status of reunification, and tracking pathway movement and post on census.
- Enforce all facility rules fairly and consistently.
- Maintain facility security and assist in basic crisis intervention.
- Complete appropriate PRSS documentation and provide complete and accurate documentation to Medical Records in accordance with Palmer’s Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in ongoing in-service education programs and staff development programs.
- Maintain knowledge of agency policies, procedures and training.
- Maintain core competencies in relation to working with substance use disorders through continuing education and implement skills learned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Director.
Requirements
- Current Peer Recovery Support Specialist certification from ODMHSAS and a minimum of one year in recovery with sponsor or similar.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Detail oriented and self-motivated.
- Previous experience working in a residential treatment facility, preferred.
- Current Oklahoma Driver’s License and acceptable driving record according to Motor Vehicles Records.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Sit for up to 8 hours/day.
- View computer screen for up to 8 hours/day.
