Peer Recovery Support Specialist - Manteno - 2nd shift

About the role

This position combines the duties of a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) and a Residential Coordinator (RC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct recovery-oriented and educational groups under the direction of the Program Manager.
• Engage patients in treatment through motivational interviewing and motivational enhancement techniques.
• Assist with monitoring patient engagement and communicate with the treatment team regarding patient attendance, participation, and any barriers or needs to support treatment involvement.
• Process incoming patients including basic orientation to program rules.
• Support treatment plans by reporting client observations and support decisions concerning therapy, discipline, and privilege (at a minimum twice per shift, subject to change depending on need).
• Assist case manager/counselor with client activities by implementing scheduled and/or requested activities.
• Work cooperatively with members of the nursing and medical staff to monitor clients' vital signs, observe urine drops, monitor self-administration of medications, and chart all pertinent data.
• Perform room and facility checks at varying intervals to ensure clients' comfort, safety, and well-being.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have at least one year of recovery from substance use, mental health, or co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges.
• Must have certification in Peer Recovery Support (CPRS) or attain certification within one year of placement in position.
• Demonstrates the ability to work within agency structure, accept supervision, and participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
• DCFS clearance required.

Schedule

Thursday - Monday (2:30p - 11:00p) with flexibility to accommodate agency's need.

Pay

$18.26 - $22.00 per hour, based on certification.
