Position Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and/or group peer support to individuals recovering from mental health and/or substance use challenges.
- Share personal experiences to build trust, inspire hope, and foster a sense of empowerment in clients.
- Aid individuals in developing personalized recovery/safety/stabilization plans, including setting goals and identifying strategies for overcoming barriers.
- Navigate the healthcare system, including linking clients to treatment services, social services, housing, and other community resources.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and other professionals to ensure holistic, person-centered care.
- Offer education on recovery and wellness, encouraging individuals to take an active role in their recovery.
- Enhance the development of natural supports, coping skills, and other skills necessary for independent functioning in the community.
- Assist re-entry into the community after incarceration, a hospitalization, or other institutional setting.
- Support clients in developing self-advocacy skills and accessing support networks.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided, in accordance with CCBHC standards.
- Facilitate peer-led recovery groups and workshops depending on program needs.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and supervision.
- Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all client interactions.
Qualifications
- Education: Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent.
- Experience: Specialized experience as a recipient of mental health services for mental illness and experience working with adults with mental illness.
