Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this role is to support individuals in their recovery process through counseling, case management, and other services.

This position serves as a Peer Recovery Specialist I, Certified, working within the MDH Local Health - Washington County department. The role involves providing peer support to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions
• Assist clients in developing and implementing recovery plans
• Mentor and support peers in their recovery journey
• Participate in team meetings and case conferences
• Conduct outreach activities to promote recovery resources

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Peer Recovery Specialist program
• Experience in substance abuse recovery
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist I
• Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery processes
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
