About the Role

Peer Recovery Adjunct faculty are needed to teach Peer Recovery Specialist training courses on campus day, evening, weekend, remote synchronous, and/or online classes at the Community College of Baltimore County.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate learning via preparation and delivery of instruction
  • Cooperate with College support staff in timely submission of materials and grades as required
  • Coordinate activities with the Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Family Studies, Social Work, or related field
  • Valid Maryland certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist or Registered Peer Supervisor required
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Peer Recovery Specialist
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Family Studies, Social Work, or related field
  • Endorsement as a CCAR Faciliator
  • Prior online and/or remote synchronous college teaching experience
  • Experience using classroom technology and learning management systems
  • Two (2) years teaching experience, college teaching experience

Qualifications

  • Selected based on program needs and subject matter expertise of the applicant
  • Attend department meetings
  • Participate in professional development related to classroom instruction and pedagogy
  • Be available to students outside of class
  • Assist in maintaining program accreditation

Skills

  • Ability to facilitate learning via preparation and delivery of instruction
