Responsibilities
- Engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served to help them explore, create, and meet their recovery goals.
- Provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture, ensuring that each member’s perspective is recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming.
- Respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills, supporting a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing emergencies related to mental health or addiction challenges.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment.
- California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of your date of hire and maintained throughout employment.
- One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges.
- Two (2) years’ full-time experience, or part-time equivalent, working in a mental health program serving persons with severe and persistent mental disabilities, or a bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology, social work or behavioral sciences.
- Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care.
- Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training.
- Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
- Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

Pay
Expected starting wage range is $23.00. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.
