About the Role
The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare's Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member's point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.
Schedule & Pay
- Part Time, Thursday through Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM (.6) PM Shift
- Part Time, Thursday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
- Expected starting wage range: $24.59 - $29.64 (geographic differentials apply; starting pay commensurate with relevant experience above minimum requirements)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment
- California: obtain Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA prior to hire date and maintained throughout employment
- One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges
- Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
- Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training
- Valid and current driver's license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver
- Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups

About the Program
Canyon Vista is a 57 unit transitional and permanent supportive housing (PSH) program serving adults in San Mateo County with serious mental illness. Telecare provides onsite case management, housing stabilization and rehabilitative services to tenants living in transitional and PSH units. Services onsite are available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
