About the role

Oakland Family Services is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach to join our team. This role works closely with individuals during their recovery journey, providing support and guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regular individual coaching sessions in the client's home or community.
  • Offer group education sessions from a peer-to-peer perspective.
  • Assist clients in finding aftercare and outpatient services.
  • Support clients in navigating multiple systems and attending court hearings.
  • Facilitate clients' involvement in social and recreational activities.
  • Participate in community events and boards.
  • Maintain clinical records and documentation.
  • Provide post-treatment support to prevent relapse.
  • Attend required training and professional advancement opportunities.
  • Meet weekly client contact unit expectations.
  • Attend monthly site meetings and supervisions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two continuous years in recovery from addiction(s) after the age of 18.
  • Personal experience in navigating complex SUD or co-occurring disorder(s) treatment services.
  • Completion of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Peer Recovery Coach Certification Training (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of computers and email.
  • Experience with on-line video conferencing tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two continuous years in recovery from addiction(s) after the age of 18.
  • Personal experience in navigating complex SUD or co-occurring disorder(s) treatment services.
  • Completion of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Peer Recovery Coach Certification Training (preferred).
  • Equivalent stated recognized SUD peer certification accepted.
  • Working knowledge of computers and email.
  • Experience with on-line video conferencing tools.

Pay

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
