About the role
Oakland Family Services is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach to join our team. This role works closely with individuals during their recovery journey, providing support and guidance.
Responsibilities
- Provide regular individual coaching sessions in the client's home or community.
- Offer group education sessions from a peer-to-peer perspective.
- Assist clients in finding aftercare and outpatient services.
- Support clients in navigating multiple systems and attending court hearings.
- Facilitate clients' involvement in social and recreational activities.
- Participate in community events and boards.
- Maintain clinical records and documentation.
- Provide post-treatment support to prevent relapse.
- Attend required training and professional advancement opportunities.
- Meet weekly client contact unit expectations.
- Attend monthly site meetings and supervisions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two continuous years in recovery from addiction(s) after the age of 18.
- Personal experience in navigating complex SUD or co-occurring disorder(s) treatment services.
- Completion of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Peer Recovery Coach Certification Training (preferred).
- Working knowledge of computers and email.
- Experience with on-line video conferencing tools.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two continuous years in recovery from addiction(s) after the age of 18.

- Equivalent stated recognized SUD peer certification accepted.
