Peer Mentor - TAG Program

About the role

The Peer Mentor shares the responsibility for ensuring that our Young Adults receive professional, safe care in a well-maintained and secure environment. In this function the Peer Mentor shares the responsibility to ensure that YMCA, DCF/DMH and DEEC policies are applied.

Responsibilities

• Utilize experiences, communication skills, knowledge of treatment systems and motivational and encouragement skills to support our Young Adults.
• Provide our Young Adults with a positive role model.
• Work to enhance the self-worth of our Young Adults.
• Aid our Young Adults in reaching their full potential.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by illustrating pride in his/her job and cooperation with their co-workers.

Requirements

• High School diploma or the equivalent.
• Work related experience working with adolescents preferred.
• Experience within Social Services.
• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Human Services (preferred, not required).
