About the role
The Peer Mentor in our Adolescent Therapeutic Day Services Program works as part of a team with our Program Director, Clinician, and Community Mentors.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality care, advocacy, and support during diverse, structured, creative, and enriching daily activities delivered to enrolled youth.
- Support youth/young adults in achieving skills and progress in their treatment plan and goals.
- Utilize experience, communication skills, knowledge of treatment resources and systems, and motivational skills.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
- Provide positive role modeling and display the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Requirements
- Lived experience or familiarity with behavioral health, and experience with any of the child and family-serving organizations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, and enrollment in an Associates Degree program is preferred.
- Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, cultural humility, and basic computer skills.
- Able to walk, sit, stand, during the work day, and provide passenger support in vehicles during daily transports.
