About the role

Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services is hiring for a Peer Counselor (Youth Partner) position in Burien, WA (serving South Seattle Latino/Latinx communities) and Tukwila, WA (serving South King County communities).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate, provide support and help facilitate services for youth and their families receiving Family Behavioral Health Services.
  • Help a youth voice their own perspective and ensure other team members understand it.
  • Achieve incredible outcomes with children, youth and families by actively partnering with them.
  • Maintain hope for their success after formal behavioral health services have been completed.
  • Work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
  • Have a flexible schedule.
  • Drive to youth and family homes and in the community.
  • Pass required background clearances.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 21 or older.
  • Personal (lived) experience as a child who has received community / mental health services within the past ten years.
  • Bilingual fluency skills in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and current auto registration.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Pass required background clearances.
  • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.

Pay

Starting Pay Range: $26.19 - $27.76 per hour.

Additional Pay For Coverage after hours: $75.00 per pay period (2 times per month).

Bi-lingual fluency skills in Spanish and English: $100 -200 per pay period (2 times per month) for service provision in support the families we serve.

Tiered language stipend based on language proficiency and youth and family needs.

Ability to earn additional pay: based on performance.

Schedule

Scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of youth and families served.

Office Locations

  • Burien office (shared with the Latino Civic Alliance building).
  • Tukwila site serving South King County communities.
