Peer Counselor - Parent Partner (FBH Certified Peer Counselor)

About the role

Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services is seeking a Peer Counselor (Parent Partner) to join our Family Behavioral Health Team. This position is available in both Burien, WA (serving South Seattle Latino/Latinx communities) and Tukwila, WA (serving South King County communities).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate, provide support, and help facilitate services for youth and their families receiving Family Behavioral Health Services.
• Help a parent voice their own perspective and ensure that other team members can understand their perspective and use that perspective in treatment planning.
• Partner with youth, parents, and families to achieve long-term safety and stability in their neighborhoods and communities.
• Work independently and as a member of a team, with scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of youth and families served.
• Provide services in community-based settings and in family homes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 21 or older.
• Personal (lived) experience as a parent of a child who has been or is receiving community / mental health services within the past ten years.
• Ability to drive to our family homes within the community with reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance with an acceptable driving record per CCS policy.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to visually assess safety within family homes and in the community.
• Availability to flex some work hours.
• Preference for a flexible schedule rather than a traditional, fixed 8-5, Monday through Friday, facility-based position.
• Demonstrate the necessary attitudes, knowledge, and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
• Pass successfully through required background clearances prior to an offer of employment.
• Support and uphold the mission, beliefs, and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.

Pay

Starting Pay Range: $26.19- $27.76 per hour

Additional Pay For First Responder pay: $75.00 per pay period (2 times per month)

Bilingual fluency skills in Spanish and English: $100 -200 per pay period (2 times per month) for service provision in support the families we serve.

Tiered language stipend based on language proficiency and youth and family needs.

Able to earn additional pay: based on performance.
