Essen Health Care is a growing community healthcare network providing high quality, compassionate, and accessible medical care to some of the most vulnerable and under-served residents of New York State. Guided by a population health model of care, Essen has five integrated clinical divisions offering services in primary & specialty offices, urgent care centers, and nursing homes, as well as house calls for home bound patients; all clinical services are also offered via telehealth. Our Care Management division supports patient-centered care through care coordination, complex care management and helping address health-related social needs. Founded in 1999, Essen provides care in all five boroughs of New York City, with a primary focus in the Bronx.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and treating common childhood ailments and minor injuries
- Recommending patients for further treatments and to specialists when needed
- Providing preventative care, including the recommendation of vaccines
- Recording and maintaining the health and development information of their patients
- Effectively communicating their patients' health, nutritional, and fitness needs to their guardians
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) degree from an accredited United States medical school
- Successful completion of residency and at an accredited healthcare institution or completed a US residency or 5 year pathway
- Active NY License
- Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing.
- Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting
- Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences with our organization
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
