About the role
The Medical Director oversees clinical operations at ACS sites in the Bronx and Brooklyn, providing direct patient care and supervising staff. This role involves managing medical screenings, evaluations, primary care for at-risk youth, and acting as a liaison with hospitals and other medical facilities.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and supervise medical and dental providers
- Ensure quality standards and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA
- Participate in case management and quality improvement activities
- Conduct staff performance reviews and protocol updates
- Coordinate with external agencies on patient transfers
- Manage dental services
- Ensure adherence to grant reporting requirements
- Undertake research initiatives and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Hold an M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution
- Board Certification in Pediatrics or Family Medicine
- Minimum of three years’ experience working with urban pediatric or adolescent populations
Skills
- M.P.H. or hospital administration experience
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish)
- Strong leadership skills in clinical supervision and program development
