About the role

We are seeking a Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our Pediatric team in the Dallas area. The Pediatric MA supports pediatric providers in delivering quality healthcare services to infants, children, and adolescents.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories
  • Absorb patients during examinations and minor procedures
  • Administer vaccines and medications as directed by the provider and within scope of practice
  • Answer phone calls and schedule appointments, providing excellent customer service to patients
  • Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient intake and check-out processes
  • Assess patients' conditions by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, respiration, height and weight, and BMI
  • Perform laboratory tests and other functions
  • Education parents and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, immunizations, and follow-up care instructions
  • Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Support efficient clinic flow with staff already familiar with pediatric workflows and immunization

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to preserve confidentiality
  • Flexibility to rotate to different clinics
  • Experience with Pediatrics is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • Excellent patient engagement and communication skills
  • Knowledge of computers and data entry with a high level of accuracy
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Burmese, Pashto, Rohingya is a plus
  • ClinicalWorks (EMR) experience preferred
  • BLS/CPR Certification up to date
