Island Health has an opportunity for a full-time Pediatrician in the community at Cowichan District Hospital, a 148-bed acute care facility known for its collegial atmosphere among general and specialty medical staff.
About the Facility
Cowichan District Hospital is a 148-bed acute care facility with a collegial medical staff including Family Practitioners, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, General & Subspecialty Internists, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pathology, and Radiology. A new state-of-the-art hospital, expected to be completed in 2027, will feature expanded inpatient capacity (over 203 beds), OR, and ICU capacity. Members are affiliated with the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program and provide teaching to medical students and residents.
Requirements
- Hold FRCPC or be FRCPC eligible
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
Benefits
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidy Agreement (RSA), including:
- Relocation costs up to $15,000
- Recruitment incentive of $10,000
- Fee premium of 4.20%
- Annual flat fee of $4,834.80
- Rural CME starting at $3,000/annum in Years 3 & 4, increasing to a maximum of $6,000/annum after 4 years
- Retention premium of 4.20%
- Retention flat fee of $6,509
