Pediatric Surgeon- Faculty
About the Role
USA Health is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Pediatric Surgeon on a full-time basis at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to join the faculty in Mobile, Alabama. The successful candidate will contribute to academic surgery in patient care, medical education, and research within the Department of Surgery at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine.
The health system serves a catchment area of 1 million people and includes USA Health University Hospital (the region's only Level I trauma center), USA Health Children's & Women's Hospital (home to the only Level III NICU in the area), USA Health Providence Hospital, USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute, USA Health Physicians Group, and the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced and innovative pediatric surgical care to patients.
- Teach and mentor general surgery residents, medical students, and advanced practitioners.
- Engage in academic research and contribute to medical education.
- Participate in the academic mission of the Department of Surgery.
Requirements
- Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Surgery for Pediatric Surgery.
- Strong interest in academic surgery, including patient care, medical education, and research.
- Commitment to teaching general surgery residents, medical students, and advanced practitioners.
