Pediatric Registered Dietitian

Join the Clinical Nutrition Team at Boston Children’s Hospital and provide comprehensive nutrition assessments for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. This Float Inpatient Dietitian role offers a unique opportunity to deliver inpatient nutrition care across diverse specialty services, collaborating with experienced dietitians and multidisciplinary teams to support medically complex pediatric patients. The position is available as either 24 or 32 hours per week, featuring a consistent schedule of consecutive workdays.

About the Role

This position allows you to practice across a broad range of inpatient populations, requiring strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Candidates will be evaluated and placed at Clinical Nutrition Specialist Level I or Level II based on experience, competencies, and alignment with career ladder criteria. Positions working 30 hours or more are eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional care to patients on assigned inpatient units.
• Evaluate medical, biochemical, and nutritional information to assess patient needs and develop appropriate nutrition care plans.
• Serve as a proficient (Level II) or competent (Level I) resource, mentor, and educator for healthcare providers, students, community dietitians, and the public.
• Support Clinical Nutrition initiatives to improve professional practice, including community-based programs.

Requirements

Level II – Pediatric Registered Dietitian II (Clinical Nutrition Specialist II)

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in Dietetics, with at least 2 years in pediatric nutrition.
• Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian.
• Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a licensed Dietitian.
• Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred.

Level I – Pediatric Registered Dietitian I (Clinical Nutrition Specialist I)

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics.
• Completion of an ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) accredited Internship Program.
• Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian.
• Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a licensed Dietitian.
• Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred.

Pay

• Level II Salary Range: $58,677.00 – $93,902 annually.
• Level I Salary Range: $55,369.60 – $88,576.80 annually.

The posted pay range reflects Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation at the time of posting. Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
