Job Summary

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer I (RDCS-I) is part of the patient care team and is entrusted with the care of patients undergoing cardiac sonographer studies on an inpatient and/or outpatient basis. CHOC has opportunities for Pediatric Cardiac Sonographers and Pediatric/Fetal Cardiac Sonographers for Per Diem, Part-Time, and Full Time roles! Our positions allow you to gain experience in both inpatient and outpatient environments, and if you're interested in learning Fetal Sonography, and have a strong foundation in PEDS, we are willing to train!

Qualifications

  • Graduate recognized program for echocardiography required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Pediatric Cardiac Sonography, and meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for the sign-on bonus.

Specialized Skills

  • Ability to communicate professionally, understand patient family centered care expectations and receive professional instruction to promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission.
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.

Experience

  • One year of adult Echocardiography experience preferred.

Licensure

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
  • Credentialing in Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS -PE) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonography (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) upon hire or must obtain within one (1) year of hire.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential by CCI preferred.

Pay Range

Minimum $45.72 Midpoint $60.58 Maximum $75.43
