Post-doctoral Fellow providing assessment and intervention for cognitive, developmental, behavioral, emotional, and social deficits, as well as academic challenges. Works under the supervision of licensed Psychologists, offering inpatient consultation and intervention to hospitalized children and families, along with outpatient follow-up care. May participate in research protocols.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive consultations to determine referral reasons, presenting concerns, and medical/psychosocial history.
- Provide intervention to hospitalized children and their families as needed (60-minute sessions).
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences to facilitate patient management (2x weekly, 60-minute sessions).
- Assist with ancillary supervision of Psychology Interns or Practicum Externs (weekly, 60-minute sessions).
- Deliver psychotherapeutic services to pediatric patients and families to enhance emotional, social, and cognitive adaptation (60-minute sessions as needed).
- Support institutional research initiatives through independent or collaborative research within the Psychology department (3x monthly, 2-hour sessions).
- Document all services and place orders in the Electronic Health Record for supervisor approval (daily, 20-minute sessions).
- Attend and lead educational/informative programs and supervision (60-minute sessions as needed).
- Select, administer, and score psychological, developmental, and neuropsychological measures (monthly, 8-hour sessions).
- Prepare data reports from cognitive, academic, and psychological tests, self-report measures, and observations to include skill remediation (monthly, 8-hour sessions).
- Provide interpretive feedback to parents, caregivers, and medical team members (monthly, 60-minute sessions).
Requirements
- Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree in clinical psychology.
- Level II Background Check.
- American Heart Association AED certification (must maintain active and in good standing within 7 days of hire).
- APA/CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship with supervised experience in psychology.
Skills
- Fundamental understanding of pediatric psychology.
- Basic competence in assessment, conceptualization, and intervention of psychological deficits.
- Skill in clinical diagnosis and treatment of childhood psychological disorders.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
