About the role

Provide behavioral health consultation and liaison services to patients in the acute care medical facility of CoA which may include individualized behavioral therapy to patients and education and support services to families to assist them in understanding, accepting and adhering to recommendations of the health care team.

Requirements

• Doctorate Degree
• Experience with equivalent qualifications

Qualifications

• Children’s of Alabama has two Behavioral Health outpatient clinics; one location is the Ireland Center (on the campus of Children's of Alabama Hospital) and the other location is an offsite location at Patriot Park, 200 Wildwood Parkway Birmingham, AL 35209. Our treatment team is comprised of Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Psychologists, and Licensed Therapists to provide multidisciplinary care for our patients and families.
• We provide crisis clinic appointments for those patients assessed in the ED to be in need of urgent outpatient services, but do not meet inpatient or PHP admission criteria.
• We provide social service counseling that provides brief solution focused support to families as well.
