Position Overview

Responsibilities

- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence. - Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions and report progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist. - Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and strategies to support continued progress outside of therapy sessions. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements. - Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other members of the care team to support coordinated, patient-centered care. - Assist with patient transfers, gait training, and the use of mobility equipment such as walkers, orthotics, or adaptive devices. - Encourage and motivate patients to actively participate in therapy and work toward individualized goals.

Qualifications

- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program. - Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Nebraska and/or Iowa, or eligibility to obtain licensure. - Experience working with pediatric patients in a therapy or clinical setting, preferred. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. - Ability to implement treatment plans established by a licensed Physical Therapist and adapt interventions to meet the individual needs of each patient. - Compassion, patience, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. - Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques and proper documentation of therapy sessions.
