About the role

Baylor Scott & White Health is recruiting a fellowship‑trained, board‑certified/eligible Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon for a full‑time position at McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple, Texas. The surgeon will join a multispecialty employed group of 16 fellowship‑trained orthopedic surgeons with a primary academic affiliation to Baylor College of Medicine‑Temple. An academic appointment is available commensurate with experience, and experienced candidates may be considered for Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at McLane Children’s Hospital and Division Director of Pediatric Orthopedics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care across a wide variety of ages and pathologies, including general pediatric orthopedics and the development of a subspecialty niche.
  • Utilize EOS imaging and intra‑operative CT technology.
  • Collaborate with a team of advanced practice providers (APPs) and pediatricians in clinic settings.
  • Participate actively in education of residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Engage in research activities, with a preference for candidates who have research experience or interest.
  • Leverage support from pediatric subspecialties such as oncology, hand, spine, and sports orthopedics.
  • Potentially assume leadership roles as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and Division Director of Pediatric Orthopedics.

Requirements

  • Completion of a one‑year fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery.
  • Willingness to actively participate in education.
  • Experience and/or interest in research is preferred.
  • Current Texas medical license issued by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Board certification in orthopedic surgery or active pursuit of board certification as defined by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in Medicine (MD or DO).
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
  • Board certified or board eligible in orthopedic surgery, with specific fellowship training in pediatric orthopedics.
