Pediatric Operating Room RN - GI Service Area

About the Role

Provides specialized nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting physicians during procedures by handing instruments, maintaining sterile environments, and adhering to infection control protocols. The role promotes patient and family-centered care, educating families on post-treatment care and medication management.

Responsibilities

• Develops and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients’ families.
• Assesses physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations.
• Participates in promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, alongside professional development activities.

Requirements

• RN license required.
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree minimum; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Prior pediatric RN experience, GI/endoscopy, or procedural experience desirable.
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills required.

Schedule

Position involves on-call rotation, with shifts from early morning to late afternoon.
