Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant

About the role

KidsCare Home Health is seeking Occupational Therapy Assistants for PRN, Part-Time, and Full-Time positions in various locations. We provide therapy services to children with special needs in their homes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medically prescribed occupational therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Direct the patient and caregiver in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and/or enhance performance.
  • Maintain an adequate caseload with appropriate productivity.
  • Cookordination patient care with supervisor, office staff, and other disciplines.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with OT supervisor regarding patient progress, problems, home programs, and other issues related to therapeutic process.
  • Proactively communicate with administrative office staff for any assistance that may be needed.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve company and departmental goals.
  • Actively participate in professional organization and activities.
  • Serve as the backup service provider for other caseloads as needed.
  • Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant preferred.
  • Current state-issued professional license.
  • Valid state drivers license.
  • CPR certified.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to read and write in simple correspondence with effective public speaking in small groups.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret instruction and solve practical problems.
  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, record keeping, and routine database activity.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

  • Spend one-third to two-thirds of time in standing, walking, reaching, sitting, kneeling, and crawling activities.
  • Over two-thirds of time is spent using hands, fingers, and handling, feeling, talking, and hearing.
  • Diverse indoor residential or childcare setting.
  • Moderate physical activity performing strenuous activities of a therapy nature.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
  • Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
