Pediatric Neuropsychologist - Outpatient Generalist - full time

About the role

Oversees and develops neurofunctional assessments, including neuropsychological and psychological batteries. Assists with translating findings into therapeutic approaches for a transdisciplinary or interdisciplinary team. Participates in supervision of students/residents. Counsels and educates families on neuropathology and neuropsychological deficits. Assists with coordinating a clinical database and promoting research. Assists in developing policies and procedures for high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides effective delivery of services appropriate to the patient’s specific needs and severity level of disability or impairment.
• Implements and oversees inpatient cognitive remediation techniques.
• Provides appropriate assessment and treatment.
• Develops and implements assessment standards and treatment plans that support established goals.
• Documents weekly/monthly treatment notes following established standards.
• Completes discharge and follows up according to departmental standards.
• Demonstrates commitment to continuous professional growth and improvement.
• Bills appropriately for services in accordance with regulations set forth by CMS.
• Serves as supervisor to the psychometrician and students.
• Supports and participates in continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided.
• Delivers competent patient care, integrating infection control and body substance precautions, patient safety, body mechanics, and knowledge of growth and development.
• Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patient and family.
• Communicates relevant information at the patient/family level of understanding.
• Identifies patient/family need for services from ancillary departments and provides follow-up and referral as necessary.
• Includes family/caregiver participation in all phases of the patient’s program.
