About the Role

Join Atrium Health, the leading community-focused academic healthcare system serving North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. This full-time position offers a dynamic team environment with 8 MDs and 3 APPs, an average daily patient load of 10-20, and a hybrid inpatient and outpatient setting with occasional weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Occasional weekend coverage as part of the schedule.

Requirements

  • Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
  • Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of employment.
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required (expiration date greater than 90 days from the start of practice).
  • Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions.
  • Current PALS and ATLS preferred.

Qualifications

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner:

  • Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.
  • Two or more years of experience in pediatric preferred (acute care experience desired).

Physician Assistant:

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; master's degree preferred.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
  • Experience in Pediatric Infectious Disease/Immunology preferred.
