Pediatric LVN/LPN - Inpatient **SIGN ON BONUS**

Duties

• Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress;
• Assists physicians during treatments and examinations;
• Administers medication and prescribed treatments;
• Completes admissions and discharges;
• Promote convalescence and rehabilitation;
• Makes observations and assessments of patients' conditions for potential or life-threatening crises;
• Initiates life-saving measures in the absence of a physician;
• Operates emergency equipment such as defibrillator, EKG machine, cardiac monitor, and others;
• Documents all patient care given and the progress of the patient utilizing the SAMMC/WHASC documentation standards in the patients' medical record.

Requirements

• MUST have 1 year or more of full time LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse experience in an Inpatient Pediatric Unit within the past 3 years in an actual INPATIENT PEDIATRIC UNIT. This does NOT include Home Health or Rehab experience. NO EXCEPTIONS!
• Must be able to pass a background check for government clearance.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing by the National League of Nursing.
• Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN/LPN Nursing license from any US Jurisdiction.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• PALS Certification.
• Knowledge of pediatric medication dosages and willingness to train as support personnel in the provision of chemotherapy.
• Achieve at least an 80% on the pediatric-specific pharmacology exam.
• Ability to pass the BAMC Annual Telemetry Test.
