Job Summary
The Surgical Technician III (STIII) assists in the cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite, participates in the care and cleaning of OR equipment, and supports the surgeon by providing instrumentation appropriate for the task.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
- Registration as a Surgical Tech by Colorado Division of Registration (DORA) required.
- Current CST Certification from NBSTSA preferred.
- Pediatric Experience required.
- Cardiovascular experience required.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians.
- One (1) year minimum experience.
- Advanced knowledge in the scrub role and responsibilities for multiple surgical specialties preferred.

About the Role
The Surgical Technician III (STIII) demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department. The STIII assists in the cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite according to Hospital standards and policies, participates in the care and cleaning of OR equipment, and is experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique.
Responsibilities
The STIII assists in setting up the required equipment and sterile supplies, supports the surgeon by providing instrumentation appropriate for the task as needed for their assigned cases, pulls cases as needed, and breaks down cases at the end of the procedure. He/she is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures.
Skills
The Surgical Technician III should have basic life support certification, registration as a Surgical Tech, current CST Certification, pediatric and cardiovascular experience, high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in multiple surgical specialties.
