Pediatric Intensivist (Per Diem)

Responsibilities

• Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Pediatric Intensivist to provide per diem coverage at Summerville Medical Center (SMC).
• Level III NICU support and telephone consult available with quaternary care center 45 minutes away.
• Inpatient pediatric floor + ER consults, 24-hour rounding plus call from home/hotel.
• Procedures include: intubations, LPs, line/chest tube placement, CPR.
• Active recruitment for Pediatric Neurology subspecialty support.
• On-site support from Pediatric Surgery, GI, ENT, Anesthesia, Radiology.
• Telemedicine support from Pediatric Cardiology.
• 2024 Census: 373 pediatric admits, 85 PICU admits, ADC: 4.1.

SUMMERVILLE MEDICAL CENTER IS A 124-BED ACUTE-CARE HOSPITAL WITH SOUTH CAROLINA’S BUSIEST PEDIATRIC ER (19K+ VISITS IN 2024). A GROWING WOMEN’S & CHILDREN’S SERVICE LINE INCLUDES HOME-LIKE BIRTHING SUITES AND ADVANCED SURGICAL SERVICES.

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care with recent experience required.
• Only candidates with active SC licenses will be considered.
