Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician Scientist - SOM/Pediatrics - M89452

Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Provide teaching and mentorship to medical students, Residents, Chief Residents, and Fellows when applicable.
  • Research: Participate in basic, clinical, translational, or outcomes research, secure revenue through grants and contracts, and mentor other members of the division and the Department of Pediatrics.
  • Service: Serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees and engage in professional activities through journal review, conference presentations, etc.
  • Clinical: Provide clinical support within the Division of Infectious Diseases, including inpatient and outpatient consultation for children with suspected infections, or infections that are complex, chronic, or recurrent.
  • Other: Take on administrative duties associated with this role and ensure compliance with all necessary certifications.

Qualifications

  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
  • Experience with clinical care of patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
  • Preference given to applicants with clinical or basic science research experience and the ability to apply for and obtain early career awards from the NIH or other funding agencies.
  • Success in generating revenue (grants/contracts).
