Pediatric Hospitalist, Riley Children's Health (IU WEST)

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary practice location at IU West, in Avon--a suburb of Indianapolis
  • Attend high-risk deliveries on a labor and delivery unit, rounding on normal newborns, and staffing Level II NICU that serves infants >32 weeks gestational age and >1500 grams at birth
  • Faculty appointment with the Indiana University School of Medicine
    • Teaching on service (pediatric residents and PHM fellows)
    • Participation in departmental educational endeavors
    • Encouraged to participate in scholarly pursuits

    Position Details

    • 12 hour shifts, may be split between days and nights; 141 shifts per year
    • Holidays and weekends are evenly distributed among all faculty
    • Some opportunities for additional moonlighting at other IU Health facilities throughout the system
    • Qualifications

      • Completion of pediatric residency
      • Completion of PHM fellowship desired, but not required.
      • BE/BC in pediatrics.
      • Physician MD/DO licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure.
      • New graduates and experienced physicians are encouraged to apply.
