Pediatric Hospitalist

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana – Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent

About the role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated physician to join a busy, well-respected practice, supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network. Join an established team of 13 pediatric hospitalists with a call structure subject to change (to be discussed during the interview process). The practice setting is inpatient with access to a comprehensive array of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties, a dedicated pediatric burn center, and advanced clinical infrastructure for procedural sedation and ground transport medical control. This is an employed position within a nonprofit health system.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient medical care to pediatric patients with diverse and complex diagnoses, managing medical treatments, procedural sedations, and co-management protocols alongside surgical and medical subspecialists.
• Serve as the medical control authority for the Pediatric Ground Transport team.
• Play an active, major role in medical education by instructing and supervising pediatric residents and medical students.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
• Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration.
• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

• 40 private inpatient beds
• 8 short-stay beds
• 14 PICU beds
• 8 Pediatric CVICU beds

• 109-bed Level IV NICU
