Pediatric Hematology Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor

About the Role

The Division of Hematology, Oncology, Stem Cell Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks board-certified/eligible pediatric hematology applicants at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the University Medical Line.

The major criteria for appointment include excellence in clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

This recruitment supports an ongoing initiative to expand the Division’s research and clinical programs, with a focus on pediatric hematology. Excellent opportunities for research and clinical program development are available.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Division’s clinical and research enterprise in pediatric hematology.
• Develop and guide clinical and/or translational research programs in pediatric hematology.
• Engage in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine.
• Participate in institutional service and program development.
• Collaborate and mentor colleagues, students, and staff.

Requirements

• MD or equivalent degree.
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
• Must obtain a California Medical License by the time of hire.
• Clinical experience in pediatric hematology and an interest in program development are highly preferred.
• Experience or potential in developing and guiding clinical and/or translational research programs.
• Record or potential of successful collaboration and mentorship.

Qualifications

We are particularly interested in physician-scientists and clinical investigators with expertise in:

• Hemoglobinopathies
• Other red cell disorders
• Bone marrow failure
• Thrombosis

Pay

The expected base pay range for this position is:

• Assistant Professor: $214,000 – $239,000
• Associate Professor: $264,000 – $289,000
• Professor: $327,000 – $352,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
