About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Healthcare Programs, the Pediatric Healthcare Programs Senior Manager serves as the subject matter expert for pediatric healthcare and EMS educational programs. This position supports content development by reviewing and editing technical texts throughout the product development cycle, ensuring accuracy and relevancy of Training Services program content. The role also assists with continuing education accreditation, quality monitoring of accredited programs, and serves as an internal and external Red Cross medical subject matter expert (SME) and liaison.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and serves as the subject matter expert for technical/medical content developed for Training Services programs and curricula.
• Ensures developed content complies with guidance from the Scientific Advisory Council and other relevant standard-setting organizations.
• Directs and creates scientific and medical content, writes and reviews scripts, and provides editing for program materials.
• Provides on-site subject matter expertise during the development of program materials, including photo and video shoots.
• Analyzes technical literature, writes descriptive copy, and verifies documentation; may coordinate production and distribution of materials.
• Reviews content during production, including media assets, rough-cut videos, programmed online course material, and print pages.
• Coordinates with internal cross-functional teams to meet target launch dates.
• Assists with daily operations of the continuing education group, including accreditation, oversight of accredited programs, and quality assurance.
• Responds to questions from staff, instructors, students, and training centers.
• Provides education to staff, instructors, and instructor trainers.
• Serves as a speaker at professional organization meetings and trade shows.
• Acts as an internal and external liaison for scientific and medical expertise.
• Supports the Director of Healthcare Programs and Senior Director of Science and Education with the Scientific Advisory Council.
• Performs other business duties or tasks as assigned by Training Services leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current active U.S. license without restriction or probation as a Registered Nurse (required).
• Specialty clinical certification preferred.
• Experience and education in instructional systems design or education may be required.
• Excellent command of the English language in both spoken and written forms.
• Strong writing skills with a clear, concise style and excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Proven ability to present information to groups of various sizes.
• Evidence of speaking or teaching experience in a healthcare education environment.
• Proficiency in content medical editing, subject matter expertise, portfolio management, and vendor/contractor management in publishing or related fields.
• Ability to demonstrate, evaluate, and remediate specialty area knowledge to the Red Cross standard.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or applicable software applications.
• Ability to work on a team.
• Ability to travel 20-30%.

Skills

• Strong ability to provide clinical guidance and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in pediatric and neonatal healthcare (preferred).
• Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Physician (MD/DO) with applicable board certification (preferred).

• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment consists of moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers, phones, and printers).
• Ability to work in a small cubicle and sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $96,624–$128,832. Salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location where the work is primarily performed, with additional factors such as skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in the role considered.
