Pediatric Gastroenterologists, East Bay

Stanford University’s Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking pediatric gastroenterologists for Clinician Educator roles at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Positions are based at the East Bay clinical site in Walnut Creek, part of Stanford Medicine Children’s Health.

About the role

The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative, and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and management of children with gastrointestinal disorders.
• Engage in formal and informal teaching of pediatric residents, pediatric gastroenterology fellows, residents and fellows in other specialties, medical students, and other graduate students.
• Participate in research and innovation in clinical practice.
• Opportunities for leadership roles may be available.

Requirements

• M.D., D.O., or M.D./Ph.D. (or D.O./Ph.D.).
• Board certified in Pediatrics with subspecialty training in gastroenterology.
• Track record of research and innovation in clinical practice.

About the Division

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition has grown dramatically over the past three decades and now includes nearly three dozen faculty. The division offers abundant resources, including equipment and nursing/administrative support. The Pediatric Gastroenterology Program is ranked among the top nationally by U.S. News and World Report and is internationally recognized for its expertise in transplantation, gastroenterology, and nutrition. The division cares for over 10,000 patients annually and offers robust ACGME-accredited fellowship programs in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Hepatology, as well as an advanced Pediatric IBD fellowship.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this position is:

• Clinical Assistant Professor: $254,000 – $272,000
• Clinical Associate Professor: $294,000 – $312,000
• Clinical Professor: $349,000 – $376,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
