About the role

Directs the activities of medical and other personnel engaged in rendering medical or surgical treatment to patients. Offer comments and recommendations relative to the adequacy of equipment and personnel utilized in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. Recommend equipment needs, modernization and assist with input to capital budget projects. Provide consultative and advisory services to clinicians as requested. Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies. Provide call and/or clinic coverage as requested by the Department Chairperson. Participate in scholarly activities and research. Assume responsibility and supervision of educational programs for residents as it applies to the Division. Responsible for reviewing medical content of resident's entries into the medical records and evaluating the clinical competence of residents.

Requirements

  • Specialist and consultant in pediatric gastroenterology.
  • Administrative and clinical responsibility for a major section of medical service or direction of a specific treatment or diagnostic unit or program.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics and/or Gastroenterology.
  • Experience in pediatric gastroenterology.
  • Experience in managing and supervising medical staff.
  • Experience in providing consultative and advisory services to clinicians.
  • Experience in maintaining documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in educational programs for residents.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in medical record keeping and documentation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

Salary range to comply with New Jersey Law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc.” The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
