Pediatric CT Technologist - Weekend Days

Compensation & Incentives

• $10,000 sign-on bonus
• Up to $5,000 relocation assistance for eligible candidates
• Shift differentials up to $3.80 per hour (depending on shift)
• Additional pay for call and overtime

Schedule

Weekend Days (Friday–Sunday), 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM. Participation in the on-call rotation required approximately once every three months; rotating holiday schedule applies.

About the role

CT Technologists at MUSC capture detailed cross-sectional images using cutting-edge CT technology, including networked CT units, dedicated protocol support, and the only photon-counting CT in South Carolina. You will aid in diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions while collaborating closely with care teams to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT examinations using all available CT imaging resources
• Provide CT imaging services for pediatric patients
• Ensure accurate and efficient imaging for physician interpretation
• Maintain image quality standards and follow established CT protocols
• Deliver compassionate patient care while ensuring safety during examinations
• Operate CT equipment safely and effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
• 0–2 years of modality-specific work experience (at least 1 year of X-ray experience)
• ARRT (R) registration required
• ARRT CT registration must be obtained within 1 year of hire
• South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association licensure required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, or walking (continuous)
• Ability to climb stairs, work outside in temperature extremes, and work in confined/cramped spaces (infrequent to frequent)
• Ability to work from elevated areas, bend at the waist, twist at the waist, squat, kneel, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders (frequent to continuous)
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted (infrequent); lift/lower 50 lbs from/to floor or to 36 inches unassisted (infrequent); lift 25 lbs from 36 inches to overhead (infrequent)
• Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force (frequent)
• Visual acuity of 20/40 or better, corrected; ability to see and recognize objects at varying distances; depth perception and color discrimination required
• Ability to maintain hearing acuity with correction; good peripheral vision
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required
• Ability to work in a latex-safe environment and maintain tactile sensory functions
