About the role

This posting is intended to fill multiple Per Diem Intensivist positions.

Responsibilities

  • 24 hour, evening/overnight and weekend shifts available
  • Advanced mechanical ventilation strategies
  • Comprehensive procedural services (intubation, central lines, chest tubes, etc.)
  • Pediatric sedation services
  • Critical care consultation to pediatric emergency department
  • Closer collaboration with on-site pediatric subspecialists

Requirements

  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship
  • Eligible for medical licensing in the State of Illinois
  • Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Required: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Required: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Board certification/Board eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care

Qualifications

  • Post-fellowship experience in pediatric critical care, also open to recent graduates of a qualified pediatric critical care fellowship program
  • Experience in community PICU settings preferred

Schedule

To be determined collaboratively with the Medical Director and incoming team

Pay

$90/hour home call rate; converts to $200/hour rate for in-person rounding or emergencies that require an on-site presence

  • Neonatology: In-house 24/7
  • No APP Coverage: Direct physician-led care model

Experience Preferred

  • Post-fellowship experience in pediatric critical care
  • Experience in community PICU settings
