Pediatric Cardiology Advanced Imaging Physician

About the Role

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin is recruiting an exceptional Pediatric Cardiology Advanced Imaging Physician to join its nationally recognized Division of Cardiology. Candidates should have a track record of clinical excellence, a commitment to patient- and family-centered practice, and interest in education. This position is ideal for individuals with 4th-year fellowship training in advanced imaging, including transthoracic, transesophageal, 3D, and fetal echocardiography.

The Department of Pediatrics comprises over 230 faculty members across 16 subspecialty divisions and is ranked among the Top 20 pediatrics departments for NIH funding. The Division of Cardiology emphasizes a team-based approach to pediatric cardiovascular care, involving physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, echocardiography technicians, and other specialists.

Responsibilities

• Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
• Provide interpretation of all modalities of echocardiograms, including performance and oversight of 3D, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiograms.
• Serve as attending for outpatient ambulatory cardiology clinic and inpatient services.
• Engage in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to maintain excellence in pediatric cardiovascular care.

Requirements

• Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology through the American Board of Pediatrics (required by appointment start date).
• Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Cardiology (required by appointment start date).
• Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program (required by start date).
• WI Medical license (required by start date).
• Board certification in Pediatrics (required by start date).
• Eligibility for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges (required by start date).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Commitment to education, quality improvement, and collaborative care.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4th-year fellowship training in advanced cardiology imaging, including transthoracic, transesophageal, 3D, and fetal echocardiography.
• For appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank, candidates must meet criteria outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment on the CHS or CT track.

Education

MD, DO, or equivalent is required.
