About the Role

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin is recruiting an exceptional Pediatric Cardiology Advanced Imaging Physician to join its nationally recognized Division of Cardiology. Applicants will be considered for titles including Clinical Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Assistant Professor (CHS), Visiting Professor, or Visiting Associate Professor, with the final title determined by experience and qualifications.

The Department of Pediatrics is a vibrant academic department with over 230 faculty members across 16 subspecialty divisions. It promotes children’s health through outstanding clinical care, education, research, and advocacy. The department has ranked among the Top 20 pediatrics departments for NIH funding since 2015. The Division of Cardiology emphasizes a team-based approach to pediatric cardiovascular care, involving physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, technicians, and families.

Responsibilities

• Participate in administrative and committee work supporting the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
• Provide interpretation of echocardiograms and perform/oversee 3D, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiograms.
• Serve as attending physician for outpatient ambulatory cardiology clinic and inpatient services.
• Engage in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Support the division’s teaching and clinical research missions.

Requirements

• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology through the American Board of Pediatrics by appointment start date.
• Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Cardiology by appointment start date.
• Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program by start date.
• WI Medical license by start date.
• Board certification in Pediatrics by start date.
• Eligibility for enrollment as a billing provider and all necessary hospital privileges by start date.
• MD, DO, or equivalent degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4th year of fellowship training in advanced cardiology imaging (transthoracic, transesophageal, 3D, and fetal echocardiography).
• For appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank, candidates must meet departmental and School of Medicine and Public Health criteria for promotion or appointment on the CHS or CT track.
