Position Summary
The Audiology Assistant performs audiology tasks under the supervision of a physician or licensed Audiologist. Responsibilities include ordering hearing aids and hearing instruments, processing hearing aid orders and repairs, educating families regarding usage and care of hearing aids/instruments and providing administrative support to the department and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assists audiologist with hearing evaluations, earmold impressions and hearing aid fittings
- Processes hearing aid orders and repairs
- Maintains inventory of department and patient supplies
- Completes all necessary paperwork
- Provides patient education regarding warranties, usage of hearing aid, and care and maintenance of hearing aid
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience, preferably with direct pediatric patient contact/interaction
- Experience and knowledge of ICD and CPT Codes
- Current BLS Certification
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of the auditory system and auditory rehabilitation and excellent organization, attention to detail, time management, judgment, and communication skills.
